Part-time Library Assistant (Children’s Services) – Town of North Branford is accepting applications from friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals with excellent customer service skills for the position of part-time Library Assistant to work in the Atwater and Smith Libraries. This position performs a wide variety of basic circulation and library-related tasks that will primarily take place at our children’s service desks. The position will be expected to help families locate materials, share our services, and assist our children’s librarians with collection upkeep and program prep. This position works closely with the public by responding to inquiries and assisting with information and technology needs. The ideal candidate will be team oriented, tech savvy, and have an affinity with children of all ages and their caregivers and educators.

Part-time Library Assistant (Technical Services) – Town of North Branford is accepting applications from resourceful and detail-oriented individuals to work primarily in our Technical Services Department in the Atwater and Smith Libraries. Under the direction of the Technical Services Librarian, work involves the processing, cataloging, and classification of material for circulation and bibliographic maintenance. This position works closely with the public. Responsibilities include routine circulation tasks, responding to inquiries, and assisting patrons with library resources, services, and technology. The ideal candidate is familiar with cataloging standards including MARC, RDA, and Dewey Decimal classification and possesses excellent customer service and communication skills.
