Join NBLCT Forester Mike Ferrucci for a talk about controlling invasive plants (fast-growing, aggressive shrubs and vines that are not native to our region.)
These plants have crowded out our native shrubs, and are preventing most trees from reproducing. Small tree seedlings from our native forest trees don’t stand a chance against the invasive plants, which had formed a dense, suffocating layer of leaves, branches, and vines. After mowing down the invasive plants, we will be planting several native shrubs and small trees to restore the forest to a more natural condition.
After the talk, we will go over to Harrison Farm Preserve.
